Our aim is to welcome, embrace and include everyone in our services when we are together.
The service itself is informal in structure, inclusive for all ages with worship, prayer and activities for young children and Teenagers. There are opportunities for the church to pray and read scripture. We have a message every week, usually from one of the leaders at Sussex Street Christian Centre and an opportunity to respond at the end. We also take an offering as part of our service, however, there is no expectation for visitors to give. We celebrate and share in communion every 3rd Sunday of the month.
We are wheel Chair accessible with all necessary facilities provided.
For those who are hard of hearing we have a hearing loop. Guide dogs are permitted. |
(Sunday School) During our Sunday services we teach children about what we as Christians believe.
The KidZone class meets in the church lounge during the second part of the morning service, between 11.00 and 12.00. Beforehand, from 10.30 to 11.00, the children are the in main church service. The KidZone class takes children from four years of age up to high school entry; older children move on to ‘Toasters’. On some Sundays there is no KidZone, but the main service is run as a ‘family service’ instead We follow a four-year programme across the breadth of the bible, but touch on Christmas and Easter each year. We focus on the stories or themes in the Bible and then discuss. There are a mixture of activities including craft and games to illustrate or help illustrate the topic covered. Each class is led by two teachers. We aim to make the class fun and thought provoking and use activities to make it interesting. There are three teaching teams who follow a weekly rotation. (Teachers are DBS checked and trained in child protection) |
