We wanted to make an impact in the community that we know is struggling. Struggling in many different ways. Therefore, in September 2019, we joined the Trussell Trust Network of Foodbanks and Rhyl Foodbank was born. The Foodbank has gone from strength to strength. Not only do we provide emergency food aid to those in crisis, but we created other services to meet the needs of our community. As we are far more than just a Foodbank, we wanted to move away from only being seen as “just” a Foodbank. This was when we decided to transition to The Bridge CommUNITY. Now The Bridge CommUNITY encompasses all that we offer. The concept might be new, but our services are not, and we’ve found them very well received by the people we have intended to support.
We've tried to duplicate the Pont y Ddraig Harbour bridge so that our logo is relevant to Rhyl town. We want to be the place/service that helps bridge the gap for our community's many complex needs (just as Jesus bridges the gap for us).
Finally, we want to stand out from the other services in our areas because of our faith and the love God has placed in our hearts for the people of Rhyl.
